Author Bio:
Eddie Ingles grew up in Ohio and was a typical kid that loved cartoons and other animated characters. He wasn’t always writing bunny books for kids or cat books. As he got older he had a love of music and art and that eventually branched out into writing books. Eddie said, “looking back I remember writing a lot of poetry and even tried my hand at writing novels that pretty much ended up never being finished. I remember coming up with a great idea and started writing chapters on that idea, but somehow I always became sidetracked, so nothing ever came into fruition.” Eddie worked for many businesses over the years but finally realized his real dream was to write children’s books. “I always loved the Saturday morning cartoons and all of the Sid and Marty Krofft shows, I still love to watch all of them, there is a joy to being youthful and not having a care in the world. It’s important to look at the world with the eyes of a child and still have the same curiosity and wonder that you did growing up,” Eddie explained. “Children grow up too fast and end up having to deal with the everyday stresses of life, but it seems like this is happening even sooner than when I grew up, we didn’t have a computer at my school until my senior year in high school. Maybe this shows my age, but the point is, computers were made to make our lives easier, but I think in many ways it created more work for everyone,” Ingles pointed out further in this conversation. “The reason I write children’s books is because it keeps me young, and it also feels good to contribute to the future of our civilization by giving something fun and peaceful to today’s kids, they are eventually the ones that are going to inherit what we left behind, Eddie said as we closed out this talk. Eddie believes we can stay young by permitting the child that still lives in us to be allowed to show itself by staying interested and curious about life. This is why Eddie writes books on friendship and manners as well as funny adventure books but instead uses cute animals like cats and bunnies as the main characters.
