About There Was an Old Woman by June Summers:
They make an unlikely trio: a grandmother—she’s sixty-six; her granddaughter—she’s fourteen; and her grandson—he’s ten. When up against a horrific home invasion, what chance do they have against three masked gunmen?
Nora Mitchell just lost her husband of forty-one years. After the funeral, to help Nora cope with her loneliness and despair, her grandchildren opt to spend the summer with her on her rural, lakefront property. Little do they know the harrowing and life-changing experience that will result from their decision when those gunmen come bursting through Nora’s front door and take them hostage, demanding all of her money and valuables.

Author Bio:
When you are young, you have hopes, dreams, and even schemes about what path you will take in life. I was positive I would become a commercial artist. When that didn’t happen, I became an art teacher. After five years, circumstances made that career no longer an option, and I became a staff accountant for a CPA firm. During this “path”, my daughter and I took an unexpected detour and established a non-profit animal shelter for abandoned and abused animals. Because we needed funds to support our increasing animal family, we wrote a book, Let Freedom Ring, hoping it would be a best seller. The book received good ratings but never made any best seller lists or helped much with our financial needs.
Then my life’s path encountered a very deep hole and took an abrupt and devastating change of direction. My daughter passed away from breast cancer, and I had to find appropriate homes for all our animals. When that overwhelming task was completed, I remained at my accounting position until I retired because my failing eyesight became a major problem.
As you can see, my life’s path took many twists and turns along the way. I now spend my retirement years writing manuscripts that I hope become published books. There Was an Old Woman is my fifth published mystery/thriller. Not too bad for an eighty-year-old
