“Rick McCormick demonstrates yet again a keen eye for detail. His descriptions of characters and settings are worth reading all for their own sake. More than that, they palpably, perpetually advance the narrative, and the reader’s appreciation of the characters. Sometimes disruptive, occasionally mournful, and from time to time also funny, The Last Sand Granules is always human.” —Richard Walter, former professor and head of the screenwriting program at the UCLA film school
When his dying mother pleads with him to change his ways so they can meet in the afterlife in Heaven, a man in prison for murder struggles with his faith because he believes he is already beyond redemption.
