Author Bio:

Calista Bostic is a member of a family that has published numerous award-winning books on rainwater catchment and sustainability. She and her family have had greenhouses for over 50 years, and they believe in growing as much produce as you can. It is healthier and you know what goes into the fruit and vegetables harvested. The family greenhouse, adjacent tilled garden, raised bed planters, and a no-till planting area have helped them through various events, including the pandemic.

The family truly believes working in the greenhouse and other gardening areas has helped their father live longer by relieving stress as well as giving him purpose and joy when he is able to sow, grow, and eat one of his own fruits or vegetables. Other members of the family have used greenhouse structures to provide year-round green outdoor spaces for enjoying and entertaining friends, even during winter months. The matriarch, great grandma, proved companion planting success without knowing the science, using just common sense.

Calista uses a pen name. It allows her to research and visit other facilities without causing anxiety on the part of the greenhouse and garden owners, much like a food critic does not expose their identity. It also allows her to publish multiple book series and represent others in her sustainably focused family. She does not believe she is the only authority on this subject and believes she, like you, is still learning. The family is in the process of assembling more of their experiences related to greenhouse growing, including harvesting and drying foods and composting from your own kitchen. We promise to keep providing you with educational support in growing your own produce.
