About Scarlet Odyssey: The EPSILON Sci-Fi Thriller Series Prequel:
Betrayed by his brother, sold to slave in a Venezuelan gold mine, Justin King escapes to pursue a new name and revenge—and finally—redemption.
Justin King and his brother David own a thriving yacht dealership in Fort Myers, Florida. But Justin discovers his brother is funneling silent power boats to the Mexico drug cartel run by Hector El Gato Reyes.
David has Justin kidnapped, sent to slave in the notorious Sangre de Cristo gold mine, operated by ruthless general Ángel Ochoa. While there, a lay priest fellow-slave, condemned to the mines by El Gato Reyes, befriends Justin. On his deathbed, the priest bequeaths a locket to Justin that hides billions in cryptocurrency accounts—in exchange for Justin’s promise to one day avenge the death of the priest’s parents at the hands of Reyes.
Justin escapes to the island of Trinidad. There he meets Rodrigo Herrera, who helps him in his quest for justice. Justin changes his name to Steve Noble and embarks on a perilous journey of revenge. But Steve’s vengeance leaves him empty and adrift.
He retreats to Rodrigo’s home on Isla Bonanza, where an ecological disaster strikes. To save Rodrigo’s paradise, Steve purchases an autonomous vehicle company, leading him to mine rare earth elements on Mars for his new venture.

Author Bio:
In his first life, BRIAN H. ROBERTS worked as a contractor and civil engineer in bustling Seattle. In his spare time he read novels by the greatest names in science fiction: Andy Weir, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and so many others. Whenever he read these authors, he often dreamt, “I’d love to write Sci-Fi Thrillers, something as engaging and entertaining as this.”
As with so many of us, life intervened. Raising a family, work, remarriage and finally retirement all placed demands on his time. Desiring a change – and time to write – he and his wife traded big city life for the outdoor adventures of Central Oregon. His writing draws deeply on his lifelong loves of science/technology and adventure sports. The EPSILON Sci-Fi Thrillers is Brian’s first series.
