Author Bio:
Krista Edwards has spent the last 30 years in the health and wellness industry. As a young adult, she helped thousands of clients achieve their health and fitness goals as an ACE-certified personal trainer. She also trained countless triathletes as a USAT Level 1 Coach. Fitness is something she is passionate about; after competing for four years as a collegiate track and field athlete she transitioned to triathlon, competing in over 100 triathlons including 2 Ironman distance races.
As time passed, she realized there was more to health and wellness than was present in her fast paced young adult life. Her family moved out to the county where they learned to homestead. Her homestead at various points in the last 20 years has looked different, including gardening, chickens, pigs, goats, cows, turkeys, bees and sheep. Most importantly, though, are her extensive herb gardens.
In 2014 a medical situation caused Edwards to turn to plants for healing. After experiencing the power of plant medicine first hand, she jumped in with both feet and went back to school. Edwards graduated from East West School of Planetary Herbalism as an EastWest Clinical Herbalist, and is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild. She practices in the Ozarks where herbs are abundant. Her mission is to give everyone the confidence needed to become his or her own family’s herbalist.
