The warm sunlight poured in through the gaps in the black curtains, bouncing off the Gray hues of the furniture and lighting up the apartment.
The buzzing of the television drifted through the seemingly empty house, intruding into the wide open room with nothing but a single queen sized bed, dotting the center of the white fur-carpet.
“……….inbow killer strikes once again. The community has been quite devas……..ith the upcoming pride parade on Sunday. The authri………..no leads so far……”
The thick white blanket stirred, and the rustling of bed sheets blended with the clear voice of the morning News host.
A loud groan rose from under the bed covers, and then, a messy head of raven black hair slowly emerged.
“So loud….” Jenna grumbled, her eyes still only half open. “Someone please turn that darn thing off.”
She belly crawled out from under the warmth of the blanket, and flopped down to the fluffy carpet with a soft thud.
A second groan filled the bedroom.
Sprawled out on the floor, Jenna stared up at the high ceiling with unfocused greyish-blue eyes, seemingly lost in thought…. Or perhaps, just sleeping with eyes wide open.
