About Pandas: Grade 4 and Grade 5 Homeschooling Science Workbook with Lesson Plans, Fun Videos and Learning Activities for Elementary School Projects by Anne Aylward:
Study the life of the giant panda and its habitat in this introduction to nature and science, and progress from there to the basics of wider science concepts embracing the animal’s ecology, its ecosystem and conservation efforts.
This educational resource has been prepared for parents or carers who are homeschooling their 4th grade and 5th grade students and insist on employing quality material to ensure a solid educational outcome for their children. It is also a perfect extension resource to encourage students who are learning in the classroom or at home, to investigate further and nurture their love of nature and sense of curiosity.
The comprehensive workbook delivers an interactive introduction to one of the world’s most iconic species, the giant panda. The student will learn about the life of the panda, the challenges in its environment, and ultimately its role in the ecosystem that it is a part of. Further information explores how conservation efforts are underway, in the global effort to rescue this much-loved species from the threat of extinction. The study material includes:
• Reading content
• Easily digested summaries
• Written comprehension exercises
• Colorful illustrations and images
• Fun facts
• Pop quizzes to recap
• Interactive challenges and activities
• Entertaining and informative video clips to engage the student and reinforce the facts and knowledge they are picking up in their lessons
While the panda is the initial focus of this science workbook, the lessons lead into a general, introductory framework of how all animals and plants interact with their environment and where everything fits into each ecosystem. This forms an introduction to the broad concept of ecology, describing what living things do and where they belong in the greater scheme of things.
This publication provides four carefully structured lesson plans on biological sciences using the popular giant panda as the medium to deliver the knowledge in an interesting format. The book also provides several bonus extension lesson plans as supplementary exercises for curious students who are ready to challenge their intellectual abilities further and enhance what they are learning.
The parent may use these lessons at one per week, or perhaps one per day, depending on the student’s study timetable. The book also recommends further high-quality educational resources from trusted, reputable providers that the parent can access for free, for further study in their student’s homeschooling program or to augment and extend what they are learning in the classroom at school.
