About Magic by the Book:
Melissa Sneedle never thought she’d be the failure in her family, but that’s exactly what happened when the professor told Melissa her magic was inept. The only thing left for this failed witch are normal people – or “normies,” as they’re called around here – and forgetting all about why magic was so important to begin with.
With her heart set on leaving the magic world behind, Melissa goes through an unexpected portal into an ordinary town and jumps at the chance to work at a local bookstore. I digest as many paranormal, fantasy, and cozy mysteries as I can get my hands on, which is probably the main reason I write in those genres. Reading has always taken me to another place, sometimes a safe space, and other days an adventure full of surprises. No matter the book I’m devouring, I always love to escape within the new world and characters. I hope my short stories give readers the same feeling I had when I read some of my favorite authors.
