Mehen Pet Tha, and Melcazar El Sharif flee Babylon, to travel to Egypt, where Ramses the Great awaits them. Traveling with those they love, they face danger, despite Melcazar’s desert tribe journeying with them. For Melcazar, the journey is painful. Grieving all he’s left behind, he must navigate his way across vast stretches of desert with followers and tribe. For Mehen, who looks forward to reuniting with Ramses, he must put his trust in the man whose actions have brought them to this journey. For the others; there is a feeling of both anticipation and fear as well as grief and anger at setting forth into the unknown. As they journey, each finds their own challenges. For Raxafar El Sharif, Melcazar’s brother, there is the daily reminder of the love affair that resulted in a child. Nepthys, caught between Mehen and Melcazar, finds solace in Dinni, who himself is finding that his destiny is changing. Galia welcomes the journey, and is intrigued by the compelling and mysterious Rax, but can she put behind her the pain of her past and find happiness again?

Deb Hoffmann Knowles lives in Baldwin County, Alabama and is originally from New York City. She’s been writing since she was eight years old. A devoted cat rescuer, she shares her home with husband Jim and her 32 rescue cats. Cats are featured in all her work, and aside from the Lords of Power series, she’s also co authored a book of cat Poems with her Fetch/Familar, Orange Ruffy called ‘From the Between’.
