Eli the Elephant is having the best time playing hide-and-seek with his friends, Esther and Elvis Egret, the 3P-Parrots, Hailey the Hippo, Crocka Dile and Oscar the Orangutan. The only one who doesnβt want to play is Mac the Monkey. Why is he sad? Could it have something to do with Eli having to go on his annual migration?
“Goodbye for Now” helps kids learn about the emotions we all feel when a friend or a loved one moves away, is gone for a time, or just plain has the blues.

Author Bio:
Mark Olmsted
I have been a writer since graduating from the NYU School of the Arts in 1980. After over a decade in Manhattan, I moved to California to pursue screenwriting and take care of my brother, who died of AIDS in 1991. Gay and HIV+ myself, I self-medicated through the worst of the plague years with crystal meth, which led to a conviction for drug-dealing in 2004 and nine months in prison, and my book, “ink from the Pen.” This story has been detailed in a recent in-depth article that appeared on GQ.com: https://www.gq.com/story/the-man-who-wouldnt-die
I emerged into a life of recovery and activism, writing hundreds of essays for the Huffington Post and my personal blog, The Trash Whisperer, based on my hobby of keeping my Hollywood neighborhood free of litter. In 2011, I entered the Graduate Humanities programs in Mount St. Maryβs University, obtaining a Masterβs Degree with a specialization in Creative Writing in 2013.
At present, through my own my own business, Nuance Titles, I edit subtitles for a post-production house. I also do translation for French and script doctoring. Occasionally I propose how I would have altered a screenplay to make it “work” in a film that is already made at: https://flicfixer.wordpress.com/, and my pieces on a variety of topics can often be found on medium.com.
