God’s Gift by Remi DeWitt
The Wizard of Oz meets The Day the Earth Stood Still in this sci-fi first contact novel.
Seven-year-old Devon is disappointed. The world isn’t fair and no one seems to care. Something should be done but she doesn’t know how until a lethal, alien robot falls from the sky.
Thinking it’s a gift from God because God does care, she sets out with it on a journey to tell the president to stop being bad.
An army of followers join her along the way, but which of them can she trust? Who wants to help her, and who wants only to use her? Can she change the world or will the world change her?
From the mundane to the surreal, Devon’s story reads like a horror allegory full of deliciously unsettling and eerie moments.
