Author Bio:
A passionate journalist with a diverse background and a love for storytelling, I’ve always been fascinated by different cultures and the power of stories. Having grown up in the early ’80s, I straddle the line between Generation X and Generation Y, and this blend of experiences has shaped my unique perspective on the world. London is where I pursued my journalism master’s degree, immersing myself in the vibrant city that would become my first home. It was there that I had a life-changing encounter, which led me to start a blog, pursue ambitious opportunities, and ultimately find myself working at the esteemed New York Times.
I am an Anglo-Italian journalist, born to an English mother and an Italian father. I am a fusion of cultures, forever captivated by stories and the art of storytelling. Fascinated by people from an early age, I was born in the early ’80s, just barely missing the cutoff for the Generation X (go ahead and do the math to figure out my exact birth year, consider it a little test), making me a proud member of Generation Y. Born in the UK, in Liverpool, I consider London my first and only home, alongside Milan and Rome. Well, technically the province of Rome.
In 2008, I obtained a master’s degree in journalism in London, where I had a life-altering encounter with a man who completely transformed my path. As a result of that meeting, I started a blog, and with newfound ambition and audacity, I found myself working for The New York Times. I ended up being featured in several books, some of which I authored myself. It all started with one encounter, one embrace. Perfect.
I have stumbled and risen countless times, always remaining true to myself—stubborn, sometimes wrong, sometimes right. People have confirmed this about me. The truth is, I love being among people, telling their stories, immersing myself in their experiences. I relish being their reflection, the mirror of their stories to be shared with the world, for the world is hungry for stories, preferably beautiful ones.
My journey has taken me across continents, encountering people from diverse backgrounds and witnessing the intertwining of generations. It has been a rollercoaster ride, filled with ups and downs, but I have remained true to myself—stubbornly and resiliently forging my path.
I thrive on being amidst people, capturing their stories, and breathing life into their experiences. As a reflection of their narratives, I feel a deep responsibility to share their stories with the world, for we all need stories—preferably beautiful ones. It is this passion and my encounters with people from all walks of life that have shaped my understanding of the world and fueled my desire to delve into the complexities of generations.
Throughout my travels and brief residences in different corners of the world, I’ve delved into the generational dynamics of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It’s fascinating to observe how certain behavioral patterns and ways of thinking resonate across time and space, offering insights into the collective consciousness of each generation.
