Everyone who has gone clubbing has moved to Mercurial Visions’ hypnotically danceable sound, but few know the story behind the death that brought Mercurial Visions’ rise to a sudden end—until now.
When Best friends Jonathan and Scott are given a once-in-a-lifetime chance at a loft in Chicago’s edgy Wicker Park, the two abandon their old lives for their shot at the big time. Once Jennifer enters the mix, Mercurial Visions finds itself signed with Chicago’s famed Wax Trax Records.
This gritty novel—from award-winning author W. Lance Hunt—chronicles the rise of the legendary 1980s band Mercurial Visions.
“Smartly written and sharply atmospheric”—Blue Ink.
“Hunt successfully conjures the story’s time and place in masterful detail”—Kirkus Reviews.
As the passionate lead singer, intense guitarist, and the woman who heralds their unexpected end, each tells part of the unfolding story of Mercurial Visions from their own flawed perspective. Taken together, they reveal what truly ended the rise of Mercurial Visions.

Author Bio:
W. Lance Hunt is an award-winning short story author, novelist, and popular live reader in NYC. His “dense, passionate prose” (—Blue Ink) has enlivened short stories and novels set in Mexico City, Chicago, Ohio, and NYC, as well as a new Fantasy set in another world. The variety of locations comes as no surprise as he grew up an Army Brat, moving 13 times by his 9th birthday, including between states and other countries. Now, he’s settled in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife and son, where he gets up early to write and puts his sommelier certification to good use, sharing notes on good, bad, and simply serviceable wine and choice pieces of street art collected from around the world.
