WILD HARE IS LISTED ON KIRKUS REVIEW AS ONE OF THE BEST INDY BOOKS OF 2019
” Wild Hare is a fast paced work of apocalyptic and dystopian fiction penned by author Laura Koerber. Combining such varied concepts as fantasy and magic with climate change and political domination is no mean feat, but the plot of this adventurous tale does just that,” Readers’ Favorites
Starred review in Kirkus Review:
“The story manages to weave together a complex tapestry of themes, from climate change to poverty to what qualifies as morality in a world that’s facing catastrophe. The prose is clear and concise throughout, giving readers a sense of each scene and character through the protagonist’s eyes.
A wrenching, complex novel that any fantasy fan would do well to pick up.”

Author Bio:
I’m old. I have to keep reminding myself of that because it’s a shock to be nearly seventy. I have always been an artist; the writing didn’t start until late in life. My first published story came out of a crime I was involved in. Since then I have published eight novels, two of which made the Kirkus Review list of best indy books. Besides writing, I work at a shelter for unadoptable cats and take care of my own pets. My husband and I live on an island in Puget Sound. We do a lot of sailing in the summer. I read a lot of nonfiction, history mostly, though lately I’ve been on a reading jag about the Cambrian era. It’s escapism because I can’t stand what’s on the news. I have to advertise my books in the fantasy category, though that really isn’t accurate. I write magical realism and sometimes magical realism combined with dystopia.
