About The Lord of Dunlochry: A Medieval Highland Romance:
She was sent north to be spent like coin. He returned from war with nothing left to lose.
Eleanor de Eskerville is a woman who survives by counting. A ‘sum to be balanced’ by her father, she is sent north into the untamed Highlands of Scotland to marry the ambitious William de Morvay. She maps every room and marks every door, but no tally can prepare her for a winter ambush that leaves her protectors broken in the fog. With only her waiting-woman for company, Eleanor finds herself at the mercy of a land that distrusts her name—and a rescue she never expected.
Rory mac Callum, the new Lord of Rosgowrie, has returned from the killing fields of France with a puckered scar and a black thoroughness in his hatred for the English. He only meant to find the father he lost at Neville’s Cross, not to pull a bone-mantled Sasannach lady from a slaughter. Rory knows better than to trust an Englishwoman, yet he cannot ignore the clues at the scene that suggest the ambush was no chance meeting, but a cold-blooded trap.
At the towering fortress of Blarmoran, the winter chill is nothing compared to the shifting loyalties within its walls. When a trap of treason springs and Rory is targeted, Eleanor refuses to stand by and watch him fall. Armed only with her quiet courage and her habit of mapping the castle’s shadows, she risks everything to uncover the truth. But playing a dangerous game against a master of reckoning triggers a deadly turn of events, forcing them both to flee as outlaws into the unforgiving winter.
In a land where a charter is sharper than a dagger, an English bride and a Scottish soldier must decide if they can trust each other—or perish alone in the coming snow.
