The Genesis Concept: An Inspiring Masterclass on Writing Dynamic Setting, Characters and Conflict by Steve Rush

One of the best opening lines in literature is, “In the beginning …” This line opens the door for writers who want to share stories based on this in-the-beginning moment.

You can write from the Creator’s perspective.

The design described in the first chapters in Genesis offers an awareness unmatched in any how-to guides on the market.

The Creator teaches writers how to go from blank page to a bold beginning set in a vivid world where tension and conflict drive compelling characters toward an uncertain future.

The world created after Genesis 1:1-2 delivers the basics necessary to construct a sense of place—a setting for inhabitants. Natural law applies to a fictional world. Day and night. Land and sea. Flora and fauna. The sun, moon and stars. Animals. Humans.

Specifics. Immersive descriptions come from these basic laws of nature.

Captivate readers with the five senses. Sensory details rate as one of the most powerful tools a writer uses for creating emotional depth. The five senses—sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell—can evoke memories, stir emotions, and pull readers into the moment with your characters.

Writing with sensory precision immerses readers in the story and makes them feel they are in your character’s presence.
