It’s 1980, Or Thereabouts. The Cold War Rages Between America And Russia. And People With High IQS Are Going Missing.
For old school private detective Wolffe Gunstormer, the best way to get to the bottom of anything is always by force.
Armed and violently disgruntled, Gunstormer’s got responsibilities – rent to pay, bars to drink in and an ex-wife who wants him in jail.
His biggest problem? Women.
And having no money.
Hired by wealthy, seductive socialite to find out why people with high IQ’s are going missing, possibly even dead already, Gunstormer’s deadly investigation leads him to cross paths with an incredibly beautiful woman. The only difference? This woman is a highly trained, dangerous foreign agent operating on American soil and she’ll stop at nothing to get what she wants.
Plus, she doesn’t wear any underwear.
This could be a bigger problem for Detective Gunstormer, who – to add to his problems – likes that kind of thing.
Digging deep as the bullets fly and the bodies and underwear pile up, Wolffe is unsure if he should shoot the foreign agent, fall in love with her or help her. But the more he uncovers, the more apparent it becomes that not only is his life in danger, so is the whole of the Western world (except for Sweden, because that’s the home of ABBA, and Gunstormer doesn’t like disco).
Time’s running out and soon it becomes one of the most dangerous case Gunstormer’s ever had to crack.
Chassis Albuquerque lives in London with his wife and baby daughter. He is on a diet (Low Carb) and learning Polish – this is unrelated to anything literary, he just thought to mention it.
Often asked where his “creative” process comes from, well, as with most things these days, it’s China. Quite religious about writing, he always writes facing south, usually toward Spain, and generally refers to himself in the 3rd person…
