This is the story of Adara, who goes on an epic journey to save her cousin… and her country.
After a tragic death, Adara’s uncle and guardian becomes king. Struggling to find her place in this new life, she soon stumbles upon some upsides to being a duchess.
She never dared dream of magic. The childish games are long forgotten when a seer reveals her potential. While the magic is still out of her reach, the dreams begin to seep into her mind. What if?
But Berender is on the brink of war. Over magic. The conflict between the crown and the Church of Asier threatens to alter not only Adara’s life but the country. While the king is hesitant to act, the Church takes what opportunities it gets to keep magic out of Berender and soon, Adara’s cousin Holly goes missing.
Determined to no longer be an onlooker, Adara sets out to save her cousin. In a country where tension grows daily, magic might be the only answer.
Will Adara get the magic to save her country? Or will the Church find her first?
This is the first book in the Berender-trilogy. If you enjoyed Wheel of Time and the Deed of Paksenarrion you’ll love this trilogy.

When I was about five or six years old, I wrote my first book. I have no idea what it was about. All I remember is that the kindergarten teacher folded a piece of paper, cut it and tacked it together to form a book that could almost fit in my hand. I sat at the little red table and dictated a story that she wrote down with a blue pen. Funny, how I can remember the blue pen but nothing about the story.
Throughout the years writing has come and gone in my life. I always enjoyed writing assignments in school, but for some reason, I didn’t think I could write outside of that. At some point, I got a bit more serious and realized I enjoyed sitting down every day to create worlds and characters. Today I love it.
There are two important creators to any story, the writer, me, and the reader, you. My story isn’t finished until it takes form in your imagination. I give you the blueprint, the main points, and you make it come to life.
When I’m not writing I like creating in other ways. I crochet. Right now I’m planning to make a dragon for my newborn niece. I bake, I cook and I play games where creation or exploration are main themes. I also garden and am currently trying to keep a couple of chili plants alive over the winter.
I hope you check out my books, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.
