Author Bio:
I’m a product of my environment, born and raised in the Pacific Northwest—a Gen Xer, living on a boat in Puget Sound. No internet, cable TV, or satellite radio. Entertainment was AM/FM, cassette tapes…and books. Clancy, Herbert, King, L’Amour, and Tolkien fueled my creative expression. During my formative years, I was obsessed with fantasy and science fiction, immersing myself in D&D and the works of Eddings, Feist, Le Guin, Heinlein, McCaffrey, and Moorcock. I wrote my first short story at twelve.
Life on a boat segued perfectly into a twenty-year Navy career. During this time, two pivotal things occurred: I learned a trade that would sustain me for life, and I earned a Literature degree from the University of Maryland.
After fifty-some trips around the Sun, I have come to rely less on extrinsic fulfillment and looked inward for ideas, plots, outlines, and narratives—eager to escape onto the written page. I’ve written and published over a dozen novels, and numerous short stories and novellas featured on online forums and retailers.
Now I live in Southern Tennessee, sharing my modest home with two entitled Rottweilers, Happy and Merlin. Aside from working, writing, and editing, I strive for sustainable independence through gardening, winemaking, kombucha, sourdough, canning, and food preservation.
