Author Bio:
Licensed clinical psychologist Michelle Kolinsky PsyD, PMH-C is the author of Navigating Postpartum Depression & Anxiety.
Her work, dedicated to perinatal mental health, offers women struggling with postpartum mental health challenges practical strategies they can apply immediately to improve their experience of everyday life.
Michelle has a certification in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International, and has spent many years working directly with pregnant and postpartum women. She employs effective therapeutic techniques to help women work through their mental health struggles, and relishes the opportunity to connect with mothers, reminding them that they’re not alone. She’s acutely aware of how many more women need help than are able to access it, and she works hard to make her techniques available to more mothers. Her writing is a way for her to do this, offering them the same support she’s able to offer her face-to-face clients without the need for them to leave their home environment.
While Michelle’s career has been a significant driving force in her work to help new mothers, she is also driven by her personal experience. Her own introduction to parenting involved having to wrestle with a mood disorder at the same time as adjusting to motherhood—a detail she’s not afraid of sharing with others. Her unique blend of professional proficiency and personal empathy shines through her writing, offering a lifeline to new moms and reminding them that they’re not alone in their struggles.
Michelle has dedicated her life to motherhood—not just her own, but to the journeys of others. She’s passionate about helping women maintain their identities at the same time as nurturing happy, thriving families, and she loves nothing more than spending time with her own family.
