Jess thought her unremarkable life would remain a “nothing to write home about” situation for as long as she drew breath. It has been for the last eighteen years; until she bumped into a questionable on the way to her birthday party.
She wanted something interesting out of life, but Jess never thought that would mean she had to enter multiple dimensions of magic. Worlds where legends were real and people played live action chess-like games, with swords, shields, and high stakes.
Not everything throughout the dimensions harboured good intentions. An ancient and evil sorceress, well known within the magic and non-magic realms as Morgan le Fey. The enchantress suffered an ill fortune under the hand of Jessica’s ancestor. A fate that fueled her seething hatred for centuries.
On her eighteenth birthday Jess wished for more and she got her magical family history, realms beyond her imagination, and bound her soul to a dragon. Not what she bargained for, but the modicum of mythical creatures was not so bad. However, the magical realms turned to her to keep the balance between good and evil. Morgan le Fey wanted a war and she would stop at nothing. Including, but not subjected to, multiple and exceedingly unsuccessful attempts at murder.

Dawn McKelvey started writing at the tender age of eleven. At thirteen she completed her first unofficial novel; 109 000 words made up of complete gibberish. It was something about fairies and horses that cannot die from mortal wounds. She had a love of the fantasy genre ever since Barbie in The Nutcracker. Which she watched on repeat as a child.
2 years later she completed her second novel. A close family friend handed her manuscript to the Dean of Literature at their local university. The Dean told her family that her writing was better than most of his students’ and she should consider publishing. Unfortunately, her family experienced a series of misfortune and her writing fell by the wayside for a long time.
Dawn spent the next few years volunteering at the clinic of her town’s animal shelter, worked at a high school library, and studied Advanced design, Copy Editing, Copywriting and Journalism. She completed her design course with a near perfect score and ended her Journalism course with 100%. She chalked it down to the help of her vivid imagination.
Now she hopes to live her dream by making a living off of her passion.
