In the broad world of sailing few sailors ever venture to sea and fewer of these ever complete a circumnavigation of the world, of which few write about their voyage. Here is one such voyage conducted by a ‘weekend sailor’ in an ageing catamaran, quite modestly. The writing is engaging without being dramatic as the author lets the story speak for itself. In the end I found it a very enjoyable read, even the second time around. This is a sailing yarn with many of the elements that made Hiscock, Pardy and Smeeton so well regarded.
