Author Bio:
Rick and Jane McKinney have lived an extraordinary life of ministry. Once described as “mavericks,” they have literally stepped out into the unknown to embrace God’s call and have experienced His presence in a way that only comes through a life of obedience. Whether planting and pastoring churches, traveling the world to perform concerts, building a house in Mexico, traveling from village to village in India, or walking across America, they have followed His voice as He led them forward, one step at a time.
Both were raised in Christian homes and surrendered their lives to God’s call long before they met. Jane’s father was a church musician, and Rick’s was a pastor. They met in the second week of their freshman year at Oklahoma Baptist University, fell in love, and have been a couple for over 50 years. Their commitment to God’s leadership and each other has taken them on some unique and exciting journeys, the most unusual of which was their walk across America.
They both graduated with degrees in Church Music and have recorded four albums, performed hundreds of concerts, led worship in several churches, and written numerous Christian songs. Rick also has two Master’s degrees, one in theology, one in Education, and a Doctor of Ministry degree. He now teaches at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Jane teaches at the local high school.
