Bound together like a eulogy of dead lovers, this collection of stories offers glimpses into oddity and emotion, brought forth in an array of settings—fantasy, modern and science fiction—all extant within a kindred backdrop of looming horror.
An inscrutable mission takes a group of souls to the edge of the solar system, some for redemption, others for power unimaginable; a tavern, patronized by the gritty and black-hearted, is breached by an unexpected guest; in the midst of existential turmoil, a girl finds her way to her own imagination as darkness sets in; peer pressure and a thirst for understanding compel a neighborhood boy to retread the horrors of his past and return to the sanctuary of his nightmares; the last of his tribe, a man barters with powers unknown to bring back the life of his granddaughter; in the wake of abuse, a young girl pleads with her angels for salvation only to finally meet them face-to-face; an old soul, wrought with the echoes of heartache, suffers the twentieth anniversary of his retreat from the world in which he’d lost everything.
Born in 1986 and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Jordan grew up in Puyallup, about 40 miles south of Seattle. If he never saw that town again, it would be too soon.
He was raised in the fabled 90’s and is simply another mind trying to find meaning in the cosmic.
He hopes to die staring up at a halo of evergreens.
