General Andrew Biman doesn’t know failure, he doesn’t understand subtlety, and he’s wholly unacquainted with humility. When the Queen invites him to join the interplanetary Congress, Andrew unveils his aggressive plans for reinstating a republic. All the political corruption, betrayal, and deception of a rotten government is unleashed, and he is framed, branded a traitor and forced to run.
While enemies amass all around, and civil war engulfs the galaxy, Andrew’s pride alienates his few remaining allies. The deaths of those around him mount, forcing humility on Andrew at great cost. Pride crushed and questioning his own existence, he fights his demons in order to protect those he’s come to care for. Striking deep into the heart of enemy territory, he must accomplish the impossible…survive.
Born in 1987, Richard Barrs grew up knowing he was special. As the years passed, it became apparent that his gift to envision the future was more than a child’s creativity…it was real. Upon reaching the age of manhood, he took it upon himself to transcribe the future in the form of Science Fiction. This was to disguise his prescient statements as fiction, to only be discovered by the special few.
Truthfully, it’s best to think of this as a fictional short story about the author. When Richard was asked for information, he laughed, declaring there was nothing of interest. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how this story was born.
