“Here’s a book you can’t read. And a bag of tiny things. Oh, and a mirror for the girl!” The crazy old wizard gave them these gifts just before he collapsed dead in the Two Pumpkin Inn.
A mirror for the girl – the most useless gift at all! Something to admire your looks while you waited for a nice village boy to swoop you up and marry you. Well, Nita Smyth was not going to get married.
She doesn’t know it yet, but a dangerous quest to retrieve a stolen magical amulet might be just the thing Nita needs to figure out what she really wants to do with her life.
I’m Chris Africa, a mom, wife, author and project manager.
Someone told me once that I have a superhero name, and I love that description so much that I repeat it as often as possible. (Superhero Name!)
It used to be that the most interesting thing about me was my place of birth, a U.S. Army hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. I even have a super-cool birth certificate with a ribbon and a seal on it which I used to show people, before I became paranoid about identity theft. So I’m very happy to now have a SUPERHERO NAME.
I have a Political Science degree, decades of web project management experience, and a successful job at a digital agency. I live in Michigan with my husband, Mike; daughter, Olivia; cats Ninja and Artemis; and Harvey the dog.
