When you are the only one who sees the dark and terrible truth…
In a future Phoenix dotted by skyscrapers of steel and glass that spear the desert sky, Kinslee is born connected to all that floats in the Cloud of the Internet. She is Cloudborn. At sixteen, Kinslee is one of the few people alive who know what the AIs are hiding behind Internet walls. Kinslee’s only chance to stay alive is to hide her Cloudborn identity from family and friends, and most especially, from the AIs who hunt the Cloudborn.
But with Cloudborn disappearing, and the AIs watching through the eyes of the people around Kinslee, it may only be a matter of time before they find her.
I am a stay-at-home mom with a not-so-secret obsession with the written word. It all began when I read Ender’s Game as a youth, and since then, my love for speculative fiction has only grown. My short fiction has appeared in Aphelion, 365 Tomorrows, and SQ Mag. My story, The Last Flyer, was awarded an Honorable Mention from the Writers of the Future contest. I am a first reader for Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores. When I’m not writing or reading, I enjoy gardening and slacklining. My favorite novel is Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn: The Final Empire. I’m currently reading Ilona Andrews’ Magic Binds.
