This is a hand-picked collection of poems by Ian Elliott. Some are political, most are about things he experiences after suffering a traumatic brain injury. The book is divided into categories based on his levels of physical, emotional, or psychological intelligence. The book is available on Amazon in paperback, and is free for Kindle Unlimited users
This is what I write about nowadays; how my view of the world has changed (after a traumatic brain injury and month-long coma), how it is to know that I had a great mind and now struggle with even sometimes the simplest of things. My hopes are not that of gaining pity, but of showing people an insight of life when someone starts all over. My writing may seem sad at times, because let’s face it, it isn’t easy. But, I want you all to know it’s actually kind of a blessing, too. I get to reexamine everything from the beginning. I’m a child all over again, but this time I get to choose the supporting and understanding people that surround me, and make this journey one that hopefully I’ll be proud to say was a great success.
I have also created my own 50-page mandala coloring book after finding that it helped me with concentration, relaxation, and my involuntary muscle movements. I used to knit, but now it’s pretty hard, so I bought a knitting machine a few months ago and have made several scarves. I love being outside and taking photos of the beauty of nature.
