Nestled in the contours of the sun-blistered Mojave, a strip of asphalt stretches from east to west, leading nowhere.
Along this lonely expanse travel various lost souls:
•An addict who finds love and self-acceptance within a group of desert dwellers
•Two forlorn hikers seeking answers to unknown questions
•A lonely woman wandering among the pungent spring flowers, recalling time spent with a mysterious Irishman
•A mother and daughter who slowly allow the isolation to heal their strained relationship
•A colorful assortment of tourists and bar flies who make a desert watering hole their home
•A terrified young woman who finds the courage to escape her dysfunctional past
Encapsulating the terrible beauty of life, these seven interwoven stories are at turns engaging and unexpected. But at its core, Road to Soul is a loving testament to the curative magic of the desert sands
Eclectic is one word that describes Carmen. Though she lives in the shadows of the great Rocky Mountains in Colorado, her heart belongs to the vast sweeping lands of the Mojave Desert, the backdrop for Road To Soul. She is currently writing the second set of short stories in the series.
