Submitted for your approval is a collection of stories about my experiences after moving to South Carolina from Louisiana with my wife in 2010. This started as a humor blog and after getting feedback from both friends and strangers alike, I told myself that I would combine it into an ebook. Well, many years later, I decided to stop being lazy and do so.
We have stories about animals (my wife is a veterinarian so it comes with the territory), music, family, and more. I try to put my sarcastic and hopefully humorous slant on each little episode. If you do not find them funny, try reading it in a different voice. If you find the stories a bit pathetic, then you’re reading it exactly right.
I’ve bounced around several different jobs throughout my 38 years but writing remained a constant. I always tried to write things that made people laugh. I started working on a master’s degree in communication and fell upon sarcasm as a research focus. A sarcastic guy studying sarcasm made school much more fun. This led me to teaching as an adjunct instructor in communication which I loved. Teaching led me further down the rabbit hole as I’m starting a PhD in mass communication this fall studying both satire and sarcasm. See a theme here?
I love to write. I love to make people laugh. I love to write things that make people laugh. My wife is a veterinarian so we have several animals that provide topic after topic to write about. I also seem to find myself in situations quite often that lead to interesting outcomes. I hope you enjoy.
