In September 1945, Death quit his job. He was knackered, he’d had enough, and he left the human race to do it themselves. Within a year, the grim reaper was a regional council position.
The job is a second chance for the recently deceased, an immortal life as ferry for the dead. It’s meant for the excellent, the diligent, the go-getters and the home-bred success stories… But in 2016, on a rainy Saturday morning, they gave it to the wrong guy.
